Not gonna lie - last years flu vaccine programme was INTENSE!! - not enough vaccine, huge demand and lockdown level 4 meant an extremely chaotic time for us.
This year we can vaccinate everyone from late April (mid April for high needs patients)
Last year was the quietest flu season on record - so how important is it this year??
VERY IMPORTANT! Viruses LOVE complacency.. And we need to encourage as many people as possible to vaccinate themselves to protect our community.
Another important thing to note this year - with news of the impending COVID vaccine - we need to have at least a 2 week gap between flu and COVID vaccines (via MoH website - Feb 21) So it would be great to vaccinate as soon as possible to give us time to get the COVID one.
